Gomoa-New Winneba Clash: “Police Joined Effutu Youth To Kill Us” — Gomoa Youth Call For Probe.

The youth and residents of Gomoa Oguaakrom in the Gomoa Central District of the Central Region have called on the Interior Minister, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), and the President to investigate the recent clash between Gomoa and New Winneba youth.
The residents are accusing some police officers of allegedly joining the Effutu youth to attack them during the incident.
Three people have reportedly died, while 19 others sustained injuries in the clash that occurred on Tuesday. The police have also arrested six people in connection with the incident.
Speaking to Angel TV reporter Nana Kojo Asare, Ebusuapayin Takyi alleged that some police officers joined the New Winneba youth to attack the Gomoa residents, resulting in the deaths and injuries.
He called for an immediate and independent investigation into the incident, accusing the police of acting unprofessionally.
Meanwhile, some residents have expressed fear and panic following the clash and are appealing to the IGP and the government to intervene to restore peace and security in the area.
The residents also maintained that the disputed land belongs to Gomoa and not Winneba, and warned that they may take steps to eject Winneba residents from the area.
