Kidnapped Assin Fosu Man Begs Family For Help As Captors Threaten to Kill Him Over GH¢45,000 Ransom.
A desperate family in Assin Fosu in the Central Region is racing against time to save 30-year-old Bismark Amoh, who has been held captive by suspected kidnappers for more than 48 hours and subjected to brutal physical abuse.
Bismark was abducted on Sunday, September 6, 2026, with his captors initially demanding GH¢45,000 and giving the family a 24-hour ultimatum.
Information gathered by this reporter indicates that disturbing audio and video recordings were sent to the family through WhatsApp, showing Bismark stripped naked, tied around his hands, legs and neck with ropes, and beaten, while being forced to lie or wallow in water poured onto the floor.
In the recordings, Bismark could be heard crying for help and pleading with his family to urgently raise the money to save his life.
Investigations by this reporter indicate that the kidnappers used Bismark’s own mobile phone to communicate with his family through WhatsApp, apparently in an attempt to conceal their identities and minimise digital traces that could lead to their arrest.
Desperate to secure his release, the family mobilised support from relatives, friends and well-wishers and raised GH¢19,500, which was paid to the kidnappers.
However, instead of releasing Bismark, the perpetrators demanded an additional GH¢30,500, bringing the total amount demanded to GH¢49,500.
The kidnappers subsequently issued another eight-hour ultimatum, threatening to kill Bismark, burn his body and destroy his phones if the additional money was not paid.
The family has reported the case to the Cybercrime Unit of the Central North Regional Police Command and is appealing for urgent intervention to locate Bismark and secure his safe release.
However, one of the recordings has introduced another dimension to the case.
A woman’s voice is heard accusing Bismark of defrauding people involved in his detention, linking the accusation to his arrest, maltreatment and the demand for money.
The identity of the woman, the people she claims were defrauded and whether the accusation is connected to the kidnapping remain unclear.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the alleged fraud, the abduction and the ransom demands are ongoing.
Meanwhile, Central North Regional Police Commander, DCOP Abraham Aquaye, has confirmed that the Police have received the report and are working to locate and arrest the suspected kidnappers and rescue the victim.
With Bismark still in captivity and the threats against his life continuing, the family fears that every passing hour could place his life at greater risk.
The case remains under investigation.
