A 35-year-old man, Kwame Danso, alias Wofa Kwame, has been arrested by the Assin Fosu Divisional Police Command for allegedly inflicting cutlass wounds on two tenants, 63-year-old Kofi Sarfo and 30-year-old Kwaku Oboh, at Assin Ahwiaa in the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region.
The victims, both farmers and tenants of the suspect’s father, were rushed to St. Francis Xavier Hospital. Kofi Sarfo suffered severe abdominal and wrist injuries, while Kwaku Oboh sustained shoulder injuries trying to rescue Kofi Sarfo.
An eyewitness revealed that the suspect, seemingly under the influence, started insulting Kofi over playing music and enjoying himself on his father’s land while he was just a tenant, sparking a heated altercation.
When Kofi Sarfo stepped out to retrieve his phone, the suspect ambushed him, inflicting severe cutlass wounds on him.
The second victim, Kwaku Oboh, rushed to rescue the first victim upon hearing his distressed call for help, but unfortunately, he also sustained shoulder injuries in the process.
The youth in the community mobilized to arrest the suspect in the nearby bush and handed him over to the police.
