Assembly Member Hails President For Allowance Package And Teacher Accommodation Initiative

The assembly member for Yaw Boadi electoral area,in the Ahafo Ano South-East district of the Ashanti region Hon. Dawuda Usif, has commended the President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama for his decision to provide assembly members with a modest allowance to support their work.

This move, according to Hon. Usif, demonstrates the President’s genuine concern for the well-being of assembly members.

Hon. Usif expressed his gratitude to the President during an presentation of yesterday State of the national address (SONA), stating that the allowance package will go a long way in enhancing their work as assembly members.

He noted that the role of assembly members is crucial in the development of their respective electoral areas, and the allowance package will motivate them to work harder.

In an exclusive interview with Angel TV News reporter Bismark Mensah, Hon. Usif applauded the President’s announcement during the state of the nation address, where he pledged to construct accommodations for teachers in areas where new schools are being built.

This initiative, according to Hon. Usif, is a bold step towards improving the living conditions of teachers and enhancing the overall quality of education in these communities.

He noted that the lack of accommodation for teachers has been a major challenge in many rural communities, leading to a shortage of qualified teachers.

However, with the President’s initiative, Hon. Usif is optimistic that more teachers will be willing to accept postings to rural areas, leading to an improvement in the quality of education.

Hon. Usif called on his fellow assembly members to reciprocate the President’s gesture by working harder to bring development to their respective electoral areas.

He also urged the government to continue implementing policies and programs that will benefit the ordinary Ghanaian.
