Ghana Gas CEO Pledges Greater Social Investment For Western Region

The Acting CEO of Ghana Gas Company Limited, Judith Adwoba Blay, has emphasized the need to prioritize the Western Region in the company’s social investment efforts.
According to Madam Blay, while Ghana Gas serves the entire nation, it is only fair that the region hosting the majority of its infrastructure receives a significant portion of its social investments.
To achieve this, she announced plans to establish a working group comprising representatives from the Western Regional House of Chiefs and Ghana Gas management.
This team will be responsible for planning and monitoring the company’s social investment initiatives.
Madam Blay also pledged to be more present in the region, promising to work from the Western Region on a quarterly basis instead of being solely based at the company’s headquarters in Accra.
Touching on the government’s plan to expand Ghana Gas’ infrastructure with a new Gas Processing Plant, she assured that employment opportunities would be fairly distributed.
The President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs, Nana Kobena Nketia V, also weighed in, advocating for key oil and gas entities to be headquartered in the region, given its role as the host of the country’s oil and gas assets.
However, he expressed confidence in Madam Blay’s leadership, especially as a competent native of the region.
