Dont Impose Career Choices On Children -Education Director Tell Parents

Mrs. Augustina Atakorah, the Twifo Atti Morkwa District Education Directoress of the central region, is urging parents to avoid imposing careers choices on their children, instead, she recommends identifying the childrens academic strength and weakness to determine a suitable future career for them.

Mrs. Atakorah made this appeal during a ceremony at Twifo Praso Senior High School, where the school’s visual art department unveiled an impressive sculpture of students.

Mrs. Attokura emphasized the importance of guiding children in making informed decisions rather than dictating their program choices.
She noted that students who pursue programs in visual arts or technical fields are not less intelligent but rather have different strengths and talents.

These students can excel in their chosen fields and lead successful lives without relying on traditional employment routes.
To ensure students are well-matched to their chosen programs, Mrs. Attokura encouraged parents to collaborate with teachers in selecting senior high school programs.

This collaborative approach can help reduce unemployment in the country.
Mr. Kweku Badu Amponfi, the head of the visual art department, echoed the importance of these programs in driving growth and prosperity in the country.

The headmaster of Twifo Praso Senior High School, Mr. Kofi Baidoo, appealed to NGOs, government agencies, and other organizations to support the school, which lacks essential facilities, including a school bus.
