Member Of Parliament Tackles Ekumfi Water Crisis Head-On Donates GH¢10,000 For Water Supply.

Hon. Dr. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe, Member of Parliament for Ekumfi, has demonstrated his commitment to addressing the water crisis in the area by donating GH¢10,000 to support water supply efforts.

The donation was presented to Hon. Kow Kakra Nketsia-Richardson, Presiding Member of the Ekumfi District Assembly, through Paramount Chief Odeefo Akyen VIII during a Traditional Council meeting at Ekumfi

The water crisis, which has persisted for close to a month, has significantly disrupted daily life in Ekumfi.

Residents face challenges in basic activities such as cooking, washing, and general household chores due to the lack of running water.

This intervention follows an earlier effort by Dr. Kwainoe to supply water to residents of Abor. With this new commitment, he aims to extend relief to all communities within the constituency.

In a briefing, Paramount Chief of Ekumfi Odeefo Akyen VIII 8 ,stated that Dr. Kwainoe highlighted the gravity of the situation, noting reports from the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) in Mankessim-Baifikrom.

Officials revealed that certain unpatriotic individuals have built structures in waterways areas, obstructing the flow of water to the treatment station.

The ongoing drought, which has dried up all streams and dug-outs, has further exacerbated the crisis.

The MP appealed to the Paramount Chief and his council to address the issue of unauthorized construction in waterways, emphasizing the need for collective effort to prevent such situations in the future.

Hon. Dr. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe reaffirmed his dedication to resolving the challenges of his constituency, ensuring that the immediate and long-term water needs of Ekumfi are addressed.
