Three Critically Injured,Sound System Vandalized As Over 50 Land Guards Storm Gomoa Main During Jubilation.

Three people are critically injured, a chief’s palace and sound system vandalized, after over 50 land guards stormed Gomoa Main in Gomoa West District, Central Region, amid chieftaincy disputes.
Ebusuapanyin Kofi Botwey of Gomoa Main told reporters at a press conference that the community was jubilating over a chieftaincy ruling when over 50 land guards armed with guns, cutlasses, sticks, and other weapons invaded the celebration center.
They vandalized the chief’s palace and surrounding property, butchering three people in the process.
Botwey said this was the first such incident in the area.
He appealed to the Central Regional Police Command, Regional Minister, and Inspector General of Police to deploy officers for patrols, as residents now live in fear and panic.
Eyewitnesses confirmed the group came from Kosoa.
They described jubilations turning chaotic as the armed land guards opened fire, forcing people to flee.
Three were injured, and the chief’s palace among other items was damaged.
The witnesses echoed calls for intervention from police, the IGP, Gomoa Akyeampim Paramount Chief, and the Regional Minister.
“The whole community is gripped by fear,” one said, “not knowing what might happen tonight while we sleep.”
The injured are receiving treatment at Esuohyia Hospital.
The incident has been reported to Gomoa Budumburam Police Station for investigation, but no arrests have been made.
