Salaga Residents Renew Call For Completion Of Abandoned Euroget Hospital Project.

Residents of Salaga in the Savannah Region have renewed calls for the completion of the stalled 60-bed Euroget Hospital project, urging authorities to honour earlier assurances made to the community.

The appeal, made by journalist Emmanuel Anyigba, is directed at the Minister of Health and Member of Parliament for Juaboso, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, following his visit to the project site on November 22, 2025, during which he assured residents that the facility would be completed.

“This serves as a respectful reminder to Honorable Kwabena Mintah Akandoh regarding his visit on 22nd November 2025 to the 60-bed Euroget Hospital project in Salaga, which has since remained abandoned,” Mr. Anyigba stated.

According to him, months after the minister’s visit, work on the hospital remains stalled, heightening concerns among residents over delays in accessing quality healthcare.

“During that visit, a firm assurance was given that the project would be completed. However, months later, the people of Salaga are still waiting for that promise to be fulfilled,” he added.

The Euroget Hospital project, once completed, is expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery in Salaga and surrounding communities by reducing pressure on existing health facilities and expanding access to essential medical services.

Mr. Anyigba emphasized that the assurance given must go beyond words and be translated into concrete action.

“As a concerned citizen, I humbly appeal to Honorable Kwabena Mintah Akandoh to take swift and decisive action to ensure the completion of this vital health facility.

The people of Salaga deserve access to quality healthcare, and this project holds great importance for the entire community. This should not remain just a promise—it must be delivered.”

The appeal has also been copied to the Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, as well as the President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama, to draw attention to the urgency of the matter.

Residents believe that completing the hospital will not only address immediate healthcare needs but also contribute to the overall development of the area.

They are therefore urging government and relevant stakeholders to prioritize the project.

Meanwhile, during the Gonjaland Youth 50th Anniversary, President John Dramani Mahama reiterated his commitment to development in the area, stating that he would direct contractors to resume and complete the 60-bed Euroget Hospital project, along with key road infrastructure in Salaga South.
