Bohyen Adumanu Assemblies Of God Church Shut Down Amid Pastor Appointment Dispute.

The Abundant Life Assemblies of God Church at Bohyen Adumanu in Kumasi has been temporarily closed following a disagreement over the appointment of a new head pastor.
Tensions have been building in the congregation after church leadership introduced a new pastor, a move some members say disregarded their preference for Associate Pastor Rev. Bismark Opoku, whose mandate expired in 2023.
According to the church’s youth organizer, Mr. Michael Gyasi, the majority of the congregation wants Rev. Opoku reinstated as head pastor, citing his familiarity with the community and past service.
He alleged that leadership’s decision to bring in an outsider has sparked discontent among members.
“The church has now turned into politics because we, the congregation, need a competent pastor we trust,” Mr. Gyasi stated in an interview.
Church leadership, however, has denied claims of imposing a pastor on the members.
They explained that the superintendent only intended to introduce the newly appointed pastor to the congregation, not to force the change.
Mr. Gyasi further revealed that although the leadership had given the congregation two weeks to accept the decision or face a closure, the church was shut down in less than a week.
“If they don’t reopen the church, we will come to church one Sunday,” he warned, signaling the congregation’s resolve to continue worshipping at the premises.
Mr Micheal Gyasi has warned leadership of their political appointment because if by Sunday the church is not opened they will open it themselves and worship in the building
