Akyem Oda Needs Technical University To End Unemployment – Kotoku Krontihene.
The Krontihene of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area in the Eastern Region, Obrempong Gyamfi Saforo Kyereh II, has called on the Ministry of Education and the NDC government to establish a specialized technical university in the area as a strategic measure to address rising unemployment.
According to him, technical and vocational education plays a critical role in equipping the youth with employable skills and is widely regarded as a key approach to reducing youth unemployment and promoting industrialization.

Speaking at a ceremony to commission a three-unit classroom block at Akyem Oda SDA and Frimpong Manso JHS, he explained that such an institution would provide practical, job-oriented training for the youth, equipping them with skills that meet the demands of the job market.
According to the Krontihene, technical and vocational education remains one of the most effective ways of tackling youth unemployment, as it emphasizes hands-on skills development and entrepreneurship.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Birim Central, Solomon Kusi Brako, stated that President Mahama’s administration has prioritized releasing District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) allocations directly to Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to promote local development.
He emphasized that the Birim Central Municipal Assembly, alongside the government, is committed to improving the quality of education in the area.
He also appealed to the community to support the government in order to attract more development projects in the future.
