National Peace Council Celebrates International Women’s Day At Somanya, Aims At Women’s Inclusion To Impact.

The National Peace Council in the Eastern Region has celebrated International Women’s Day at Somanya in the Yilo Krobo Municipality aims at women Inclusion to impact lives in societies.

Speaking to the Media at a ceremony held in Somanya, Dr Mark Boadu Eastern Regional Chairman of the Peace Council noted that, it’s time women are encouraged, supported, promoted, and allowed to be part of decision-making and governance.

According to him, if women are given a role with the needed support and encouragement, they will make an impact as they have many ways of bringing peace among people so therefore women should be allowed to participate in decision-making.

Dr Gloria Sarku Kumawu Deputy Clerk of Ghana’s Parliament and Women’s Rights Advocate thanked the National Peace Council in the Eastern Region for such an initiative to motivate the next generations.

Francis Akumatey Addo MCE for Yilo Krobo Municipality receiving an award on behalf of the Municipality from the National Peace Council as Best Municipality for contributing to peace thanked the National Peace Council for recognizing their efforts.
