DCE Cuts Sod For Construction Of 24-hour Economy Market, Assures Indigenes Of Jobs Creation.

The District Chief Executive for Afigya Kwabre South,, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah, has cut sod for the construction of a 24-hour economy market at Aboabugya in the Ashanti Region.

The ceremony at Aboabugya brought together chiefs, traders, youth groups, and residents.

The new market is designed to operate round-the-clock under the government’s 24-hour economy policy, allowing trading and services to continue through the night.

“This market will change the economic face of Aboabugya. It will create direct and indirect jobs for our youth, our mothers, and artisans. Indigenes will be given priority during construction and when shops are allocated.”

The facility is expected to have lockable stores, cold storage units, a food court, sanitation facilities, and security posts to support night trading.

The DCE added that the project aligns with plans to make Afigya Kwabre South a commercial hub in the region.

“We have been trading in poor conditions for years.

A 24-hour market means more sales, more income, and our children will have work. We thank the DCE and government for remembering us.” She added.

Mr. Frank Antwi, Project manager, Shanko Company in an interview with Angel Tv News reporter, Bismark  Mensah said work begins immediately.

He therefore pleaded with residents and the assembly authorities to ensure tight security over the company’s equipment when brought on site from the start to finish.

Lastly, some constituency executive members who couldn’t hide their happiness over the project expressed gratitude to the president.

The Afigya Kwabre South Assembly says it will work with security agencies to ensure safety for traders operating at night.

The DCE urged residents to protect the project and take advantage of employment opportunities that will arise.
