Ahafo Ano North MCE Urges Ghanaians To Keep The Environment Clean.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ahafo Ano North Municipality in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Kwasi Adusei, has appealed to Ghanaians to desist from indiscriminate disposal of waste and work together to keep the environment clean.

According to the MCE, poor sanitation practices are among the major causes of flooding and the outbreak of diseases across the country.

He noted that the recent flooding experienced in parts of Accra serves as a reminder of the consequences of neglecting environmental cleanliness.

Hon. Kwasi Adusei urged residents to stop dumping refuse into gutters and other unauthorized places, stressing that such practices block drainage systems and contribute significantly to flooding during the rainy season.

He emphasized that maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility, calling on individuals, local assemblies, and the government to play their respective roles in ensuring proper sanitation and preventing environmental disasters.

The MCE made the remarks during a working visit to the Tepa English and Arabic Basic School, where he encouraged pupils, teachers, and community members to adopt good sanitation habits and become ambassadors for environmental cleanliness in their homes and communities.

He further called on citizens to support government initiatives aimed at improving sanitation and protecting the environment, adding that a clean environment is essential for promoting good health, preventing floods, and ensuring sustainable development.
