Omanhene Title Sparks Fresh Controversy.
The spokesperson for the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Council, Nana Okatakyi Idan Opirim IX, has clarified what he describes as misconceptions surrounding traditional authority in the Gomoa area.
Speaking to Angel TV, Nana Okatakyi Idan Opirim IX stated that the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Council and Gomoa Assin traditional council remains the two legally recognized traditional authorities over the area.
He therefore urged the public to refrain from referring to Ogyeedom Kwesi Atta as an Omanhene.
According to him, Ogyeedom Kwesi Atta is the Odikro of Gomoa Afransi and does not hold the title of Omanhene.
He emphasized the need for the public and the media to respect the established traditional hierarchy and use the appropriate traditional tittle.
