One Year On: “Fufill Your Promises” — Sikaman Brofoyedu Residents Remember 8 Victims Of Helicopter Crash,Demand Development.
One year after Ghana lost 8 high-profile government officials in a military helicopter crash, residents of Sikaman Brofoyedu in the Adansi Akrofuom District are calling on government to fulfill all promises made to the community.
The residents say while the nation remembers the tragic incident of August 6, 2025, their community continues to struggle with poor roads and lack of development.
The Z-9 military helicopter crashed in the Dampia Range Forest Reserve near Sikaman Brofoyedu while en route from Accra to Obuasi.

The officials were on official duty for the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme,COMSDEP.
Speaking to Angel Tv News, residents said their road is in a deplorable state and it is affecting farming, trade, health and education in the area.
“Our road is very bad. Since the incident, people came, made promises, but nothing has changed.
When it rains, we can’t even move.
It’s affecting us seriously,” a resident said.
President John Dramani Mahama, through NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, assured the community in August 2025 that their roads would be fixed as part of efforts to improve local infrastructure.
The residents are urging government to remember Sikaman Brofoyedu and deliver on all commitments made.
They believe fulfilling the promises will honor the memory of the 8 fallen officials and improve livelihoods in the community.
Residents say they remain hopeful that one year on, government will prioritize Sikaman Brofoyedu in its development agenda and turn promises into projects.
