Hotel Burnt To Ashes At Subrisu–Asikam In Ahafo Ano North.

A hotel at Subrisu–Asikam in the Ahafo Ano North Municipality of the Ashanti Region has been burnt to ashes following an alleged attack by some individuals.
The incident involved the Ashaiman City Hotel, owned by businessman Mr. Yaw Sarpong, popularly known as Coach.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Sarpong narrated that the incident allegedly started after some young men came to his hotel to sell what they claimed was gold.
According to him, after testing the item, he discovered that it was fake gold. He said some people around the area attempted to apprehend and beat one of the suspects before eventually handing him over to his father.
Mr. Sarpong further alleged that the suspect’s father subsequently went to the Tepa Police Station to lodge a complaint and later returned with some individuals who allegedly set the hotel on fire.
The hotel was subsequently burnt down, with Mr. Sarpong saying he lost his property and belongings in the fire.
Mr. Sarpong said he also reported the matter to the police and lodged a formal complaint against the alleged perpetrators.
However, he claims that the Tepa Divisional Police Command did not come to the scene to conduct investigations.
As of the time of this report, no arrest has been confirmed in connection with the alleged arson.
The hotel owner is therefore appealing to the Inspector-General of Police and the Ashanti Regional Police Commander to intervene and ensure that a proper investigation is conducted into the incident.
Mr. Yaw Sarpong says he is seeking justice and wants the circumstances surrounding the destruction of his hotel and property thoroughly investigated.
