Awutu Traditional Council Moves To Quench Tensions, Defends Kasoa MCE.
The Awutu Traditional Council has stepped in to quell growing tensions regarding a dispute between the Kasoa Municipal Chief Executive and a local chief.
The Council has publicly dismissed allegations that Hon. Seth Sabah Serwornoo-Banini has shown disrespect to traditional authorities, urging the public and leaders to disregard what it calls misleading accusations.
In a bid to de-escalate the situation, the Queen Mother of Awutu State, Naakye Dordey Akaabi, has appealed directly to the Boundary Chief to exercise patience and pursue peaceful resolutions if he frels things ain’t with his expectations.
She highlighted the importance of harmony among the traditional councils, the municipal assembly, and residents, noting that such disputes could derail developmental efforts in the region.
Supporting the Queen Mother’s call for peace, other senior chiefs, including Nai Ampem Darko III and Nai Kwame Korabey Opeikuma IV, have called on the Ofaakor Traditional Council to utilize the proper channels for engagement.
They advised that if the MCE’s actions are perceived as an infringement, the matter should be handled through respectful dialogue rather than public confrontation.
The leaders concluded by reiterating that the region’s progress hinges on the ability of its leaders to maintain peace and prioritize development over discord.
