Our Biggest Problem In Akwamu Pesse now a thing of the Past – Chief Expresses After Getting Mechanized Borehole

The Chief of Akwamu-Pesse in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region, *Nana Osae Nyampong VI* , has commended Hydro Cooperate Credit Union at Akosombo for providing a mechanized borehole to combat guinea worm infections in the area.
According to the Chief, the community had struggled with guinea worm infections for years due to lack of access to portable drinking water after being relocated from their original home during the construction of the Akosombo Dam.
The Chief expressed gratitude to Hydro Cooperative Credit Union, stating, “You have taken away a big chunk of worries in Akwamu Pesse.”
Vivian Agyarkuor Nartey, Chairperson of the Interim Management Committee at Hydro Cooperative Credit Union, explained reasons behind their decision to provide a portable drinking water to the community.
They made this statement during the commissioning of a mechanized bore whole to the community through the Adonteng Hemaa of Akwamu Pesse *Abrewaa Antwiwaa II* following an appeal she made before them.
