Atwima Mponua DCE Arrests 8 Illegal Miners, Burns Mining Equipment

A joint security Taskforce headed by the District Chief Executive for Atwima Mponua, Hon. Isshaq Ibrahim has arrested 8 illegal miners operating in the Agogoso River and River Offin in the Agogoso near Nyinahin.

The Taskforce destroyed 15 changfan machines and over 150 tents, while more than 100 puming machines and 15 detectors also picked one executor.

In an interview, the DCE, Hon. Isshaaq Ibrahim said, “The move was aimed at protecting the sanctity of the river that serves thousands across the Atwima Mponua District.

The DCE sends a strong warning to galamseyers within the Atwima Mponua District and urges the residents to help assist the fight against galamsey.
