Community Leaders Urge Government To Fix Abandoned Bridge

Residents of Atimatim Chairman and Bronkong New Site in the Afigya Kwabre South of the Ashanti region are crying out for help.
Community leaders are urging the government to fix the abandoned bridge that connects the two communities.
Despite the community’s efforts to start construction, the project has stalled.
The community had mobilized resources and started building the bridge, with a quarry donating materials to aid completion.
However, their MP, William Wureku Aidoo, allegedly informed the MCE that the road had been given to a contractor, resulting in the confiscation of donated materials.
The leaders disclosed that the community is in dire need, especially during the rainy season.
Many people have been swept away by the river over the years, and the bridge’s condition is becoming increasingly hazardous.
They are calling on the government to urgently intervene and construct a safe bridge to prevent further loss of life.
The situation demands immediate attention from the authorities to provide a safe and reliable crossing point for residents.
Let listen to the community leaders when speaking in an interview with sompa FM Bawah Baidoo.
Meanwhile the Assembly member of the area Mr Frank also added that, if care is not taken the bridge will claim all his residents.
He called on the Ashanti region minister Dr Frank Amoakohene to as a matter of urgency come to their aid because they vote massively for NDC during the election.
