Third Time’s The Fmr. Vice President Dr. Bawumia Boosts Bernard Mensah’s Medical Fund

Bernard Mensah, an electrician by profession and NPP member, was electrocuted while fixing street bulbs in Twifu Atti-Morkwa District during the 2024 General Election campaign period. The incident left him with severe injuries, including a ruptured hand.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer 2024, heard of Mensah’s ordeal and donated 1 billion old cedi (approximately GHS 100,000) to support his medical recovery. The amount was handed to him by the party’s Central Regional leadership.

On June 4, 2025, Dr. Bawumia visited Mensah at his home, accompanied by Central Regional executives, and donated an additional 200 million old cedi (approximately GHS 20,000) to support his medical bills.

Yesterday, Chairman Roger Oscar Tetteh, informed Dr. Bawumia about Mensah’s urgent need for surgery, and Dr. Bawumia intervened for the third time, donating 600 million old cedi (approximately GHS 60,000) to support Mensah’s medical bills.

The donation was presented by a team led by Central Regional Chairman Mr. Percy Dennis, Regional Secretary Mr. Takyi Mensah, Regional Treasurer Mr. Francis Asare, and Chairman of Twifu-Atti Morkwa Constituency Mr. Roger Osca Tettey.

Mensah’s story is one of resilience, and the support he received from Dr. Bawumia and the NPP has been overwhelming.

The community has rallied around him, offering support during this challenging time. Mensah’s recovery is a testament to the power of solidarity and kindness.

Through Dr. Bawumia’s consistent support, Mensah has received a total of GHS 180,000 to aid his medical recovery.
