Regional Minister Sends Stern Warning To Eccentric Government Workers In Ekumfi

The Regional Minister for Central Region, Hon Ekow Eduamoah Okyere Payin, has put government workers in Ekumfi on notice, urging DCEs and traditional leaders to discipline any staff misbehaving or disobeying authority.

During a courtesy tour visit to the Ekumfi Traditional Council and District Assembly, he emphasized that campaign season is over, and it’s time to get serious.

Addressing Hon DCE Ishmael Nana Asamoah, he said, “Don’t grant workers space to joke around. You campaigned together, but now you’re in charge make them work!”

In an interview with Douglas Oyiboh Amponsah, Hon Ekow Aduamoah Okyere warned that workers thinking they’re untouchable will be sacked if reported.

“If a DCE instructs you and you don’t comply, you’re out,” he stressed.

He’s fed up with workers sabotaging government efforts, fueling opposition, and staying put despite changes in government.

“Government workers supporting the opposition will ‘go with them’ when they leave,” he added, emphasizing accountability and loyalty to the current administration.

Hon Ishmael Nana Asamoah, DCE for Ekumfi, has responded to the Regional Minister’s warning, saying he’s more than ready to discipline any government worker misbehaving in the assembly.

“We’ve achieved a lot in just 1 year under President John Dremani Mahama’s resetting agenda,” he said, highlighting developments like:

Health infrastructure, Education infrastructure, Road projects, Renovation of buildings, etc

Hon Asamoah promised the Regional Minister that they’re on track to make government initiatives a success and launch a 24-hour market next year .

He urged Ekumfi residents and traditional leaders (Nananom) to stay patient, assuring more developments, especially on roads, are coming.

“We’re ready to work and bring development to Ekumfi!” he declared
