A total of 14,132 delegates in the Western Region are expected to cast their ballots in the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primaries scheduled for Saturday, 31st January.

The main opposition party will head to the polls nationwide to elect its flag bearer for the 2028 general elections.

The Western Regional Secretary of the party, Okatakyie Afrifa Amankwa, says the party is fully prepared for the exercise.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with our Western Regional Correspondent, Nana Fynn, he disclosed that all ballot papers have been successfully distributed to the region’s twenty-two constituencies under security escort, with agents of the various candidates present.

He assured delegates and supporters that the elections will be conducted peacefully, stressing that no vigilante groups will be tolerated at any voting centre.

According to him, the Ghana Police Service has been tasked to provide adequate security across all polling stations in the region.

He further urged party members to conduct themselves responsibly and avoid any actions that could create tension during the voting process.
