Assin North Presiding Member Urges Unity For Accelerated Development.

The Presiding Member for the Assin North District Assembly, Mr. Mark Nti Ballack, who also serves as the Assembly Member for the Assin Dansame–Asempanaye Electoral Area, has called on residents to embrace unity as a catalyst for development.

According to him, the district can achieve meaningful progress and improve the standard of living of its people if residents remain united and work together toward a common goal.

Mr. Ballack made the call during a community football event he organised for residents aged 50 years and above in the electoral area.

The initiative brought together participants from Asempanaye and Dansame, who, after the games, shared a meal symbolising strong bonds of unity and togetherness.

He explained that the exercise was not only aimed at fostering unity between the two communities but also at promoting healthy living among the aged through physical activity.

“We are united as one people, regardless of our numbers and political affiliations, and there is nothing we cannot achieve when we put our minds together,” he stressed.

The Presiding Member further urged the youth to respect and support vulnerable groups, especially the elderly, in society.

He assured that the initiative would not be a one-time event but a sustained effort to promote peace and cohesion in the area.

Meanwhile, the District Chief Executive for Assin North, Hon. Sylvester Amakye-Nyarkoh, commended Mr. Ballack for the initiative and encouraged other communities to emulate the gesture.

He also pledged his support to improve sports infrastructure in the area to help nurture and develop the talents of the youth.

Barffour Asare-Boadi, the Gyaasehene of Assin Dansame, noted that the event had brought joy to residents of both communities and expressed confidence that the spirit of unity demonstrated would be sustained.
