A Tribute To The Memory Of Hon. Salifu Adam Braimah ( A.ka. Uncle Sally), Frm. Member Of Parliament, Salaga – South.
It is with a heart full of sorrow that I join the people of our constituency and the entire nation in mourning the passing of Hon. Salifu Adam Braimah, affectionately known as Uncle Sally.
He passed away on Sunday, 12th April 2026, at the University of Ghana Medical Centre after a brief illness. May Allah, in His infinite mercy, grant him admission into Jannatul Firdaus.
Hon. Braimah served as the Member of Parliament for Salaga – South in the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic, having first won the seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party in 2016 in one of the most keenly contested elections in the constituency’s history.
He also served as the founding Minister for the Savannah Region, appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo following the creation of the region.
In this role, he dedicated himself to laying a strong foundation for the region’s growth and identity.
Uncle Sally and I both contested for the mandate to represent the good people of Salaga – South in the 2020 and 2024 parliamentary elections.
I remain humbled to have emerged victorious on both occasions and carry that privilege with a deep sense of responsibility.
I also do so with enduring respect for a man who loved this constituency deeply and served it faithfully.
Our contests were never rooted in personal rivalry, but rather in a shared commitment to the development and well-being of our people.
Beyond the offices he held, Uncle Sally was a man of the people—warm, approachable, and genuinely invested in the lives of those he served.
His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of many who knew him, worked with him, and benefited from his service.
The people of Salaga – South have lost a devoted son who gave much of himself to the land he cherished.
To the Kpembe Traditional Area, his family, and all who mourn his passing, I extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences.
May they find solace in his enduring legacy, and may his soul rest in the eternal peace of his Creator.
