“I Have No Hand In Ashaiman Demolition” — Dagomba Boy Denies Allegations.

Businessman and investor, Alhaji Abdul Rahim Haruna, popularly known as “Dagomba Boy,” has denied allegations linking him to the demolition of shops and properties around the Ashaiman Traffic area last week.

The demolition exercise, which was carried out by a team from the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly, affected several traders and property owners operating along the stretch.

Following the exercise, a group of traders calling itself Peaceful Settlers accused the businessman of influencing the Assembly to clear the area to be given to him for his personal interest because of his financial influence.

However, addressing the media at a press conference, Dagomba Boy strongly refuted the allegations, describing them as false and misleading.

According to him, he was equally surprised by the demolition and had no involvement in the decision or execution of the exercise.

He revealed that the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) was rather the body that authorized the Assembly to undertake the demolition on its behalf, urging the public to disregard claims suggesting he was behind the operation.

The businessman further criticized the manner in which the demolition was carried out, stressing that the affected traders and occupants should have been compensated before the exercise took place.

He also called on the government to intervene and take over the disputed land, noting that the three parties claiming ownership have failed to reach any meaningful resolution over the matter.
