Fire Destroys Saloon, Carpentry Shop And Containers At Gyinase Presby.
A fire outbreak has destroyed several shops at Gyinase Presby in the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti Region, leaving affected traders counting their losses.
One of the victims, Madam Nyarko, told Sompa News that everything in her shop was burnt to ashes. She said she could not salvage a single item.
Everything is gone. I couldn’t take anything from the shop. All my capital is lost. I’m appealing for support.”
Tech Operations Fire Service Commander, ADO I Oppong Adjie, told Sompa News that his outfit received a distress call reporting the fire at Gyinase Presby.
He said fire personnel were quickly dispatched to the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control within 30 minutes, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.
However, the damage was severe. A saloon, a carpentry shop, and several containers were burnt to ashes. According to ADO I Adjie, nothing was salvaged from the affected shops.
He added that the cause of the fire is not yet known. Investigations are currently underway and the public will be updated once the findings are complete.
