Banana Sellers Bemoan Low Sales; Attribute Situation To Allegations Of Using Carbide In Preparing Them For Market.

Banana sellers in Kumasi, specifically, in the Suame market have bemoaned the low sales they record nowadays.
Speaking in an interview with Atinka News reporter, Sofoba Kwame Afrifah, they traders expressed worries over their situation and attributed the situation to false allegations against them by individuals.
According to them, some people allegedly level allegations that the banana sellers and farmers use hard chemicals and or carbide in preparing the unriped bananas to the market.
Reacting to this allegations, the traders called on the general public to treat such news or allegations as false.
“Consumers have not been buying our fruits (banana) for the past 3 – 4 months due that allegation and we have been running at a loss, making most of us losing our capitals.” They worriedly said.
They emphatically stated that, “how can we use those alleged chemicals in preparing the fruits whiles we and our nuclear and extended families eat same fruits we send on the market?”
