Kuntanase Government Hospital Calls for Children Ward and Delivery Beds, Mrs. Gifty Asoandek.

In order to improve the quality of healthcare provided at the Kuntanase Government Hospital in the Bosomtwe District of Ashanti, Mrs. Gifty Asoandek, the Maternity Unit In Change, on behalf of the management of the hospital is calling on the government to assist them with the Children Ward and Delivery Beds.

Mrs. Asoandek in her speech indicates that because there is not a special children ward, kids are always admitted to the female ward, and the situation requires immediate attention.

Also , the hospital’s maternity ward needs delivery beds in order to offer its patients high-quality delivery services.

She made this appeal during a cleanup exercise organized by Damak Sanitation Health Watch – Ghana in collaboration with Noble Friends of Dr Kwaku Oteng (NFODKO) Kontenase Branch and Artisans Association from Asereso-Adegya to keep the facility clean and safe.

Addressing the media personnel on Saturday 27th June, 2026, during the exercise, the Director of Damak Sanitation Health Watch-Ghana, Mr. Daniel Mbabugri Akugri, advised and encouraged the general public to inculcate the habit of keeping the environment clean at all times.

He said it is high time to involve school-children in the fight stressing that, it’s paramount to adopt swift measures to support mitigating the unclean nature of cities and communities in the region and beyond.

According to him, indiscriminate disposal of Waste in our communities and streets, especially “plastic bags” have become a norm where the laws failed to safeguard these indiscipline behaviours.

Hence, instilling the habit of cleanness in children at a tender age will not only reduce the level of Waste and chock gutters, but will transform the mind set of children within their communities thereby pushing toward changing the elderly.

Additionally, Nana Antwi Boasiako, The Chairman of Noble Friends of Dr. Kwaku Oteng (NFODKO) for Kontenase Branch, in his speech during the exercise called on stakeholders, especially the traditional leaders to give their full support to the sanitation fight in their communities.

He said it is the responsibility of the traditional leaders to preserve and protect the environment for the future generations, and failure to do so will leave them nothing good but a bad legacy.
