Two Killed, Several Injured In Fatal Crash On Fodoa–Nadeso Road.

Two people have lost their lives while several others are receiving treatment following a fatal road accident on the Fodoa–Nadeso stretch of the Kumasi highway in the Kwahu South District of the Eastern Region.

The accident occurred in the early hours of today when a cargo vehicle collided with a long truck loaded with bottled water.

Two persons were confirmed dead and several others sustained critical injuries after two vehicles crashed between Kwahu Fodoa and Nadeso on the Kumasi road.

According to the Nkawkaw Municipal Fire Commander, Divisional Officer Grade Two (DO II) Samuel Mante, a cargo vehicle with registration number WR 644-N and other vehicle registration number ER- 101- 12 reportedly developed a fault, leading to the collision with a long truck transporting bottled water.

The impact of the crash claimed the lives of two occupants on the spot, while other victims suffered various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw for emergency treatment.

Emergency personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and other security agencies responded swiftly to the scene to rescue trapped victims and clear the road for traffic.

DO II Samuel Mante has meanwhile urged drivers to strictly observe road safety measures, especially during vehicle breakdowns.

He advised motorists to immediately place warning triangles at appropriate distances to alert approaching drivers and help prevent avoidable accidents.

He further called on road users to regularly maintain their vehicles and remain vigilant at all times.
