Kwadaso To Get New Immunization Center To Curb Zero – Dose Children.

Kwadaso Municipality in the Ashanti region is set to get a new immunization center for newborn children as part of efforts to reduce the number of “zero-dose” children in the area.

During the Sod cutting ceremony held at Kwadaso Ohwimase M/A Basic school was attended by health officials, NGOs, and municipal authorities.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Ninsau K. D. Alazar, Vice Chairman of the Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health, said the facility is expected to be completed within one month.

According to him, immunization for children is crucial because it prevents deficiencies and protects them from preventable diseases.

“This center will help reduce the rate at which parents in Kwadaso fail to bring their newborns for immunization,” Mr. Alazar stated.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Kwadaso, Hon. Eric Assebey, described Kwadaso’s ranking as the 2nd highest on the zero-dose list as alarming.

He said children must be immunized on time to prevent child deficiencies and diseases.

“Having Kwadaso as number 2 on the zero-dose list is really alarming.

This new immunization center will help reduce the number of parents who don’t bring their children for immunization,” Hon. Assebey disclosed.

The Kwadaso Municipal Director of Health Service, Mrs. Grace Billi Kampitib, said the facility will be a major boost to healthcare delivery in the area.

She noted that the center will make immunization services more accessible to parents, especially those in hard-to-reach communities.

“This facility will help the good people of Kwadaso.

It will bring services closer to the people and help us achieve our immunization targets,” she stated.

Health officials and NGO leaders used the occasion to urge parents to take advantage of the new center and ensure their children receive all required vaccines on schedule when the project is completed.
