Teachers Are Nation Builders: Uphold Professionalism And Protect Students” – Holy Trinity Manager Charges Educators
The Executive Manager of Holy Trinity Lutheran School, Madam Vivian Boateng, has charged teachers to remain professional, disciplined and protective of students, describing teaching as a sacred calling that demands high moral standards.
She made the call at the school’s 2026 graduation ceremony held at Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region on the theme: “Respecting Our Cultural Heritage Using Education To Fulfill Our Aspirations.”
Addressing parents, teachers and graduands, Madam Boateng said the teaching profession goes beyond delivering lessons in the classroom.
“Teaching is a calling. Not anyone can become a teacher.
You are shaping the future of this nation, so you must hold on faithfully to your professionalism,” she said.
She expressed worry over recent reports in various schools involving teachers having inappropriate relationships with students and others beating students mercilessly.
“Let us adopt a child care strategy. Our children must feel safe in our hands.
We are supposed to build them, guide them, and not destroy them,” she added.
Speaking on the theme, Madam Boateng urged Ghanaians to respect and preserve their cultural heritage even as they pursue modern education.
“Education without culture is like a tree without roots.
We should not forget who we are. Let us use education to fulfill our aspirations while upholding the good values of our society,” she stated.
The Supervisor of Studies, Mr. Kenneth Arthur, also called on the Ghana Education Service and government to pay closer attention to private schools and provide them with the needed support to improve learning outcomes.
He further cautioned students against depending solely on Artificial Intelligence for academic work.
“AI can be a tool, but it cannot replace thinking. The disadvantages are really high when students rely solely on AI.
You must read, ask questions, and learn from your teachers,” Mr. Arthur advised.
