Woman Collapses As KMA Demolishes Unauthorzed Strutctures Around Baba Yara Stadium.

A woman reportedly lost consciousness after witnessing the demolition of her shop during the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly’s (KMA) ongoing exercise to remove unauthorized temporary structures around the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The demolition operation, carried out with support from the military, targets temporary structures that the Assembly says do not conform to approved specifications.

The exercise forms part of KMA’s broader efforts to restore order, improve public safety, and enforce compliance with its planning directives.

A visit by Angel Tv News reporter Bismark Mensah, Emotional scenes unfolded at the site as excavators pulled down several structures, with the affected woman collapsing during the exercise.

She was attended to by bystanders as the demolition continued.

KMA has maintained that it issued several notices to affected owners ahead of the exercise and engaged traders and other stakeholders on multiple occasions to ensure a smooth and lawful process.

The Assembly has also advised owners of damaged structures to remove any remaining valuables immediately.
