Headmaster Of Edinaman SHS Raises Alarm On Life-Threatening Assembly Hall Conditions

The Headmaster of Edinaman Senior High School in Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem Municipality of the Central Region, Mr. Ebenezer Obeng, has expressed deep concern over the school’s severe infrastructure challenges, which include a depleted and unsafe assembly hall, abandoned school blocks, encroachment on school land, an old 33-seater bus for over 3,000 students, and rampant shortage water.
He said these conditions negatively affect both students and staff, creating a poor learning environment and impacting morale and academic performance.
The headmaster highlighted the main school issue ” fund for maintenance ” allocations fund, which are often release from government are not coming for period of time, leaving students to study in small classrooms, and many buildings need repainting and repairs.
Mr. Obeng, appeal was made during a recent event where a students from the Teaching Artist Institute in Baltimore, USA, donated several laptops to the school, symbolizing international support amid local challenges.
Furthermore, the headmaster’s emotional appeal underscores the urgent need for funding and stakeholder engagement to resolve infrastructure decay and resource shortages at Edinaman Senior High School, ensuring a safer and more conducive environment for education.
Professor Etheridge Elijah who led the students was shocked to learn that over 3,000 students at Edinaman Senior High School are sharing just two computers.
He expressed concern that the inadequate availability of computer resources is negatively impacting the academic performance of the students and his team immediately upon their return to the States, aiming to improve the school’s water problem.
