District Assembly’s Presiding Elections, Hon. Addo Ofosu Maintained Incumbency With 92.5% Votes

The Incumbent Presiding Member for the Kwahu South Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region Hon. Samuel Addo Ofosu has won the heart of about 93% of the Assembly Members to retain the incumbency.

Hon. Addo Ofosu went to the contest unopposed. Therefore, 40 Assembly Members were to vote on “Yes or No” to determine his feet.

Out of the 40 members, 38 were able to cast their votes while 1 ballot was spoiled and 37 votes were valid, which he secured all the 37 valid votes to continue his incumbency.

Speaking with the media, he emphasized pressuring the assembly to pay full sum and remaining half of the ex- gracia to Assembly Members, whose term of office is due and has yet not fully.

On his side, the Municipal Chief Executive of the Kwahu South Assembly, Hon. David Osei Effah Bonsu ( Hon. Ato- Plans) emphasized the Assembly’s aim of promoting agribusiness and adding value to the farm produce in the municipality.

He also underscored the need to boost tourism because the area is endowed with many tourist attractions, including the Kwahu Paragliding site.
