Hon. Isaac Yawson Teams Up With Security Agencies to Stop Unlawful Transport Fare Charges at Twifu-Atti Morkwa District.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Isaac Yawson,Twifu-Atti Morkwa District in the Central Region, together with the Police, Fire Service, and Immigration Service, has taken steps to stop the unlawful charging of transportation fares in the Twifu-Atti Morkwa District.

According to reports, some commercial drivers and transport operators have been charging passengers fares higher than the approved rates.

This has been causing hardship for commuters.

In response, Hon. Yawson led the joint security taskforce to engage the drivers’ unions and conduct checks at lorry stations.

The team warned that anyone found overcharging passengers will face strict sanctions.

Hon. Yawson assured residents that the measures are meant to protect commuters and ensure fairness, especially during this period of economic pressure.

He urged passengers to report any driver who refuses to follow the official fare.

Passengers have welcomed the intervention, saying it will bring relief and restore order at the various transport terminals.
