Sekyere South MCE Cuts Sod For 24-Hour Economy Market At Wiamoase.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Sekyere South in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Evans Amoh Twumasi, has assured traders and the youth that the 24-hour economy market project at Wiamoase will transform the local economy and improve livelihoods.

Speaking after cutting the sod for construction, Hon. Amoh Twumasi said the project fulfills President John Dramani Mahama’s promise to provide modern markets across all districts in the country.

He described the market as “extraordinary” and “ultra-modern,” designed to go beyond traditional trading spaces.

According to the MCE, the facility will feature a kindergarten, restaurant, hotel and guest rooms, designated trading spaces, and other auxiliary facilities to support traders and patrons.

He noted that the 24-hour model will allow trading activities to run day and night, creating jobs for security personnel, cleaners, transport operators, and food vendors while boosting revenue for the Assembly.

Hon. Amoh Twumasi urged traders to adopt a strong maintenance culture once the market is completed.

He stressed that keeping the facility clean and well-managed will ensure it serves the community for years and attracts more business to Wiamoase and Sekyere South.

He added that the market will bring development, improve the image of Wiamoase, and position the town as a commercial hub within the district.
