Galamsey Fight Requires Collective Action, Not Politics – Former NDC Communications Officer.
Former Dormaa Central NDC Communications Officer and aspiring Constituency Organizer, Nana Nyanteh, has stated that he does not support the politicization of the fight against illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.
According to him, illegal mining poses a serious threat to Ghana’s water bodies, forests and the livelihoods of future generations, making it a national issue that requires collective action beyond political party lines.
Nana Nyanteh said the fight against galamsey should not be used as a political weapon, stressing the need for politicians, traditional leaders, civil society organisations and the general public to work together to protect the country’s natural resources.
He called for stronger enforcement of existing laws and urged all stakeholders to support measures aimed at protecting Ghana’s water bodies and forest reserves.
