12-Years-Old Boy Swept Away By Okrudu River At Kasoa American Town

A tragic incident occurred at Kasoa American Town in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region, where a 12-year-old boy named David was swept away by the Okrudu River after a heavy downpour.

According to eyewitnesses, David was on his way to pick up his siblings from school when the incident happened.

His slippers fell into a gutter, and in an attempt to retrieve them, he followed them into the Okrudu River. Unfortunately, the strong currents pulled him in, and he was carried away.

On his part, the Assemblyman for American Town Electoral Area, Hon. Shaddrack Boakye Yiadom noted that a search team embarked on search last night but was proven futile and for that traditional leaders in the area are yet to perform rituals to help locate the boy’s remains.
