35-Year-Old Man In Critical Condition After Armed Robbery Attack

A 35-year-old man, Kwabena Atta, also known as Atta Salinko, is in critical condition after an armed robber attacked him in his room around 3 a.m. at Assin Fosu in the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region.

The victim sustained severe wounds to his back, shoulders, arms, and other parts of his body.

He told Angel News that he was fast asleep when the intruder broke into his room, demanding money and valuables.

A struggle ensued, during which he was stabbed multiple times.

His cries for help alerted neighbors, who rushed him to the hospital for urgent medical care.

Residents intercepted the taxi allegedly used by the armed robber to flee.

The vehicle bore both Ghanaian and foreign registration numbers—C/R-1039-22 and LS57YD—raising suspicion.

While the suspect reportedly escaped, the taxi driver was handed over to the police for investigation.

The victim expressed shock that the driver had been released without explanation and called on the IGP and other justice authorities to ensure accountability and justice.

Local residents and agitated youth in the community have expressed fear and demanded justice for the victim since the incident occurred on October 29, 2025 but they see no progress in the investigation by the police.

Meanwhile, the Assin Fosu District Police Commander, ASP Jacob Kumedzro, confirmed that police have met with the victim and other key witnesses as part of the investigation.

He revealed that the victim’s statement has been recorded and that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrator.

ASP Kumedzro clarified that the taxi driver has not been set free, as alleged, but was granted bail while investigations continue.

He called on the public to provide any information that could help arrest the suspect and assured the community of the police’s commitment to their safety, urging calm.
