Chief Call On Okere District Assembly To Rehabilitate Inner Roads In Awukugwa

The Abontendomhene of Awukugwa in the Okere district of the Eastern Region, Baafour Kumankum Sereko Ayerakwa II, has called on the Okere District Assembly to urgently rehabilitate the inner roads at Awukugwa, as erosion has damaged the roads.

Speaking at Awukugwa after Team CRS Ghana donated a Mechanized borehole, Computers, and educational materials to Awukugwa United Primary and JHS, stated that, most districts across the country are constructing or rehabilitating roads without waiting for external contractors, which, for many months now, roads in Awukugwa have been neglected.

According to him, erosion is causing the roads to deteriorate, creating large drains, which is a concern for him, and he is appealing to the assembly to take action on their plea.

He therefore thanked Team CRS Ghana for donating to the students at Awukugwa United Primary and JHS, which he believes will enhance quality in the district.

Some of the students in an interview expressed their excitement and gratitude to Team CRS Ghana for their kind gesture in supporting education in the community.
