Okaikwei North MP, Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni, Inspects GARID Road Projects

Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni, the MP for Okaikwei North, has been involved in various initiatives to improve her constituency.

Recently, she inspected the Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development (GARID) project, a $200 million initiative funded by the World Bank aimed at enhancing flood risk management, solid waste management, and improving basic infrastructure in the Odaw River Basin communities.

The GARID project is expected to benefit communities like Alogboshie, Akweteyman, and Nima, which are prone to flooding.

The project includes the construction of new access roads, primary and secondary drains, street lights, and water network extensions.

Hon. Awuni has been praised for her efforts to address flooding issues in her constituency.

However, she faced criticism for blocking a $150 million loan aimed at addressing severe flooding issues in Okaikwei North.
