Two Years On, Family And NDC Demand Answers Over Disappearance Of Tema West Women Organiser.

The family of former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Tema West Women Organiser, Madam Paulina Lamisi Akampodipo, together with executives of the party in the constituency, have renewed calls for intensified investigations into her disappearance, nearly two years after she went missing without a trace.

Madam Lamisi was reported missing on June 12, 2024, and despite efforts by her family, party members and security agencies, her whereabouts remain unknown.

At a press conference held in Tema West, family spokesperson Paul Anamde described the prolonged uncertainty surrounding her disappearance as devastating, particularly for her daughter, who continues to struggle with fear, confusion and unanswered questions about her mother’s fate.

According to him, the family has endured immense emotional pain and is yet to receive the closure they desperately seek.

He therefore called on President John Dramani Mahama to intervene and ensure that the matter receives national attention, stressing that the family remains hopeful that fresh investigations could lead to a breakthrough.

The Member of Parliament for Tema West, Lawyer James Enu, expressed concern over what he described as the slow pace of investigations and the limited information made available to the public and the family.

He urged the IGP to personally take interest in the case and deploy the necessary resources to help uncover the truth, adding that the family deserves answers and closure after nearly two years of uncertainty.

The Acting Tema West NDC Women Organiser, Victoria Everlove Yankson, together with party executives joined the calls for urgent action, appealing to party leadership and state authorities to act swiftly to address the concerns of party supporters and the family.

They warned that growing frustration among party faithful and sympathisers could escalate if concrete steps are not taken today advance investigations and provide updates on the case.
