Minister Reaffirms Commitment To Improving Teacher Welfare And Infrastructure In Awutu Senya West.

The Deputy Minister for Works and Housing who doubles as Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West in the centralRegion, Hon. Gizella Tetteh Agbotui, has reiterated her commitment to improving teacher accommodation and motivation across her constituency.
Speaking at a workshop organized in collaboration with the International Community for Learning and Social Spectrum (ICLASS), the MP who also serves as Deputy Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources emphasized the importance of investing in both human capacity and educational infrastructure.
The workshop aimed to equip teachers in the constituency with skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technology to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
According to Hon. Agbotui, such capacity-building initiatives are essential for preparing educators to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital world.
However, she stressed that training alone is not enough.
“While we are equipping our teachers with modern skills, it is equally important to provide them with the right environment to apply this knowledge,” she said.
“This includes improving school infrastructure, renovating existing facilities, and ensuring adequate accommodation for teachers.”
She further revealed plans to complete abandoned teacher bungalow projects in the constituency, noting that decent housing remains a key factor in teacher retention and motivation.
Also addressing participants at the event, the Awutu Senya West District Chief Executive, Kalala Hagan, encouraged teachers to embrace technological advancements, particularly AI.
“We are in a new era where technology is transforming every sector, including education.
I urge all teachers to take advantage of these tools to improve their work and impact students positively,” he stated.
Lastly on her part, an Educational Psychologist and Learning Strategist, Miss Marian Benewaa Babah-Alargi entreated teachers to desist from discrimination among students as she says every child has his or her own special abilities.
