MP Joseph Azumah Donates Medical Equipment To Akrofuom Health Center.

HON. Joseph Azumah, Member of Parliament for the Akrofuom Constituency, has donated medical equipment worth GHS200,000 to the Akrofuom Health Center to improve healthcare delivery in the district.

According to the MP, the donation was funded through the MP’s Common Fund allocation, which includes health and education funds meant for constituency development.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Hon. Joseph Azumah explained that the funds are not his personal money but resources meant to support development projects within the constituency.

This is the share of the MP’s Common Fund for the constituency. It includes health and education funds, so I do not hide the funds because they are not my personal money.

It is money for the constituency that passes through me to be used for development, he stated.

The items donated included one DP2 ultrasound scan machine, 11 digital blood pressure machines, 11 glucometers, scan gels, strips, lancets, four laptops, one swivel chair, two office chairs, three tables, two 3-in-1 chairs, and two Apsonic Jungle motorbikes.

Hon. Azumah noted that the equipment is not only for the Akrofuom Health Center but for the entire district to help improve healthcare services.

He further advised the health workers to take proper care of the equipment, expressing confidence that they would maintain them well for effective healthcare delivery.

Meanwhile, Mr. Joseph Annor, Acting Health Director for the Akrofuom Health Center, expressed gratitude to the MP for the timely support.

He revealed that the health center was in dire need of the motorcycles, scan machine, and other medical equipment, adding that the donation has brought great relief to the facility.

What the honorable has given to us has served as a relief, and it will help us engage with the communities frequently so we can monitor everything happening in the communities,” he said.

Mr. Annor also assured the MP and the public that the equipment would be properly maintained.

When it comes to maintenance, we will make sure that every month the person using the equipment brings it for inspection to ensure it is not destroyed.

The equipment the honorable has given to us will be used to improve healthcare delivery in our communities, he added.
