Nkwanta South Municipal Hospital Needs Complete Overhaul / Renovation To Suit It’s Status….. .. Dr.Kwaku Awunoor.

The technical adviser to the health minister and the pioneer of Nkwanta south municipal hospital, Dr. John Koku Awunoor has called on the government to overhaul renovte the nkwanta South municipal hospital to suit it status.

According to him, the hospital haven’t seen any major renovation since its inception so many years ago as district hospital.

The hospital is now a municipal hospital but lack so many equipments and human resources as a municipal hospital.

He however promised to initiate engagement with the relevant authorities as he himself is part of the policy makers at the health sector.

With regards to the conflict in the nkwanta area, he registered his disappointment about how a very peaceful environment has become conflict zone.

According to him, the conflict has escalate the plight of the hospital because a lot of health workers has left leaving the hospital in dire need of human resources.

He revealed that, he has to be persuded and allay the fears of his colleagues doctors and nurses who are on a mission at the Nkwanta south municipal hospital of their safety.

He therefore called on all stakeholders to allow peace to prevail in order for Nkwanta to retain its former glory.

Dr. Awunoor made these comments at Nkwanta south municipal hospital when he led over 38 doctors and nurses to the municipality to perform surgery on over 250 residents in the next 7 days for free.

According to him, this initiative started some four years ago and it’s now the turn of the Oti region.
