Encroachers Invade Ntobroso Roman Catholic Basic School As Assembly Member Decries Lack Of Fence, Teachers’ Accommodation.

The Assembly Member for Ntobroso in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, Hon. Domfeh Emmanuel, has raised alarm over increasing encroachment on the land of the Ntobroso Roman Catholic Basic School.
Speaking to Sompa News, Hon. Domfeh revealed that encroachers are taking over portions of the school’s land due to the absence of a fence wall around the school.
“The lack of a fence wall allows intruders to enter the school anytime they want.
People have started putting up structures on the school land, and it is very worrying,” he said.
He added that the open nature of the compound has also turned the school into a thoroughfare for motor riders, who often ride through during contact hours.
“Motor riders have turned the school compound into a motorway.
The noise and movement disturb teaching and learning. Pupils cannot concentrate,” the Assembly Member lamented.
Hon. Domfeh further disclosed that teachers’ accommodation remains a major challenge in the area, affecting academic work.
“Teachers don’t have a place to sleep. Most of them commute from far places every day, and it affects their output.
We need teachers’ bungalows to keep them in the community to teach the children,” he stressed.
He is therefore appealing to the Atwima Mponua District Assembly, the Ghana Education Service, and NGOs to urgently construct a fence wall around the school and provide accommodation for teachers.
“If we don’t act now, we will lose the school land completely, and the quality of education will keep falling,” Hon. Domfeh warned.
Parents and residents of Ntobroso are also calling for swift intervention to protect the school and improve the learning environment for pupils.
