No Curse Invoking Allowed At Apremdo Central Market – Chief Warns Traders.

The Chief of Apremdo, Nana Egya Kwamena XI, has cautioned traders and patrons of the Apremdo Central Market against cursing or invoking evil spirits on one another, warning that anyone found engaging in such acts will face sanctions from the traditional authorities.
The warning was issued during a ceremony to officially open the Apremdo Central Market in the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipality of the Western Region.
As part of the traditional rites marking the opening of the market, Nana Egya Kwamena XI and his elders slaughtered sheep, cattle, and fowls to perform customary rituals aimed at purifying the land and seeking the blessings of the gods for a successful and prosperous market.
According to the chief, the rituals were necessary to remove any spiritual obstacles and pave the way for the market to flourish, attract more customers, and contribute to the economic growth of the Apremdo community and the municipality as a whole.
The Apremdo Central Market is expected to serve as a major trading hub within the municipality, providing opportunities for traders while contributing to local economic development
Speaking to the media after the ceremony, Nana Egya Kwamena XI emphasized that peace, unity, and mutual respect among traders are essential for the success of the market.
He therefore urged traders to avoid conflicts and refrain from cursing one another during disputes or misunderstandings.
The chief further noted that any person found cursing another individual within the market would be summoned before the traditional authorities and sanctioned in accordance with the customs and traditions of Apremdo.
The Market Queen Mother of the Apremdo Central Market, Nana Esi Gyarbah, expressed appreciation to the chief and his elders for organizing the traditional rites.
She noted that it was important for the community to seek favour and blessings from the gods before the market commenced operations.
She expressed confidence that the prayers and rituals performed would help the market grow, attract more buyers and sellers, and create a thriving commercial environment that would benefit traders and residents alike.
The Chairman of the Urban Council, Mr. Abraham Owusu, who represented the Municipal Chief Executive for Effia-Kwesimintsim, commended Nana Egya Kwamena XI and his elders for their commitment to the development of the community.
He described the opening of the market as a significant step toward boosting economic activities in the area.
Mr. Owusu also urged traders to conduct their businesses in peace and harmony, stressing that a peaceful market environment would encourage patronage and support the growth of local businesses.
