Gomoa Central Mp, DCE Cut Sod For Construction To Commence On Winneba -Swedru Road.

The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central Constituency, Kwame Asare Obeng, the District Chief Executive, and traditional leaders have officially cut the sod for construction to commence on the Winneba to Swedru Road to ease the struggle on commuters.

Speaking with Angel TV, the MP, Kwame Asare Obeng, expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for awarding the road under the Big Push Agenda.

According to him, the Winneba-Swedru Road has been one of his burdens since he assumed office as MP for the area, and he is now excited that road construction has commenced.

Kwame Asare Obeng has therefore appealed to residents who have their properties along the road to cooperate with the necessary authorities to pave way for the contractor to finish on time.

The District Chief Executive for Gomoa Central, Hackman Kobina Aidoo, said the construction of the Winneba-Swedru Road is a dream come true.

He also expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament for lobbying for the road to be considered under the Big Push Agenda.

He added that the road, when completed, will boost economic activities in the area and improve the Internally Generated Funds of the Gomoa District Assembly.

Haruna Ali is the manager for Nag Fermond constraction, on his part urged traditional leaders and other stakeholders to cooperate with them to complete the project on time.

The Winneba Swedru Road is expected to be completed within 12 months

Residents are hopeful the new road will reduce travel time and boost trade between Winneba and Swedru.
